An intimate portrait by a fellow Haitian artist of an unforgettable couple, whose lives span over three continents and close to a century.
Poet/actor/director/presenter/academic Lucien Lemoine and his actress/director/presenter wife Jaqueline Lemoine left Duvalier’s Haiti for France while on tour with their theatre troupe. In 1966, invited by Preside Léopold Sédar Senghos, the married couple relocated to Senegal, where they later became citizens, to be part of the international arts festival hosted by the country. The pair devoted their lives to the arts and was known across the world as extraordinary and prolific artists.

Co-director Maksens Denis is a Haitian artist, who, like the Lemoines, is based in Dakar. He managed to capture the lives of the charismatic couple just before Lucien, and a few years later, Jaqueline passed away.
