A 3-part series that analyses boldly the individual dramas, the historical roots of the genocide and the French responsibility.
Full understand the circumstances that eventually lead to the Rwandan genocide in 1994 requires a look at the country’s history, starting with the arrival of its first colonizers and their strategy of ruling by dividing. A strategy which ultimately led to the infamous and cruel events set off by the President’s death in April 1994.
Analysis by experts and political figures is alternated with the personal stories of Vénuste, Joseph and Eugène, who were all in opposition to the government of pre-1994. Two of them are in exile - one was close to the Hutu-power movement and cannot imagine returning home, the third one is getting ready to return to his home soil.
