A theatre play about the infamous French Elf affaire; an event that revealed the corrupt relationship between France and Africa, and its aftermath - a veritable theatre.
The realisation that the problems between cities and their suburbs reflect the problems that France and its former colonies experience is the point of departure of the theatre project “Elf Pompe Afrique”, which mimics such diverse styles as the ancient story telling of African griots, modern day radio reportages, and comedia dell’arte.

Theatre director Nicolas Lambert finds the basis for fiction in reality, and discovered, when following the Elf-court-drama that the dramaturgy of the courtroom easily can be translated into theatre. Thus a revealing play in which Lambert played all the roles: judge, accused, defender and prosecutor, was born.
