Director (Mozambique)

Born in 1962 in Mozambique, passionate by images from childhood, João Ribeiro began his career in the National Institute of Cinema (INC).
Archivist and coordinator of production, he produced several documentaries including the series-Kuxa Kanema. In 1990, he eventually form the realization and production following the course of the EICTV Cuba.
When he returns to Mozambique he produced his first short film adapted from a novel by Mia Couto, and a second from the same author. In parallel, he joined the production company Ebano Multimedia.
João Ribeiro is a founding member of the Amocine (Mozambique association of film-makers) and SACOD (Southern African Communication for Development). The Last Flight of the Flamingo is his first feature film.
