Director, Photographer (Sweden)

Per Sanden is a Swedish filmmaker and photographer. He was covering the Namibian Liberation War against South Africa during the 70's and 80's, right up until the Independence in 1990.

During this time he was embedded with the People's Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN), with whom he spent several months. After the Independence, Per has gathered his footage, which is now archived for future generations of Namibians. They are available at the SWAPO Party Archives and Research Centre (SPARC) which was created in 2004 and of which Per Sanden is the director.

Per Sanden’s contribution to the Liberation War has been recognised by the Namibian government with a medal of honour
