Director (France)

Born in France in 1971, I have undertaken audiovisual studies at the Université Paul Valéry of Montpellier, ending up with a diploma in 1995. That is when I decided to settle in Mauritius.

Passionate about cinema, I have always worked in this field as an assistant director and production assistant, and I have prepared a lot of shootings before directing.

In 2006, I shot my first short movie, À Fleur de peau (13’), which was screened at the Festival du Court Métrage de Mesnil le Roi (France) and was selected by the Agence du court métrage.

In 2008, I made the documentary Salama Zazakely (52’) following Mauritian women taking part in a long-distance trek in Madagascar.

In 2010, I participated to the Écrire court scriptwriting workshop offered by Île Courts - International Short Film Festival of Mauritius. That is how Johni, my second short movie, was created. Johni was screened at the Île Courts Festival in 2011, at the Montréal Black Film (Canada) and at the FIFAI - Festival du Film d’Afrique et des Îles (Reunion island) in 2012.
