Director (Mauritius)

Krishna Luchoomun (1962) holds an M.A in fine arts from the Russian Academy of Arts. He is presently teaching in the painting department at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute School of Fine Arts in Mauritius. Though he is a trained visual artist he has always been keen in filmmaking. He started with some video works after which he developed an interest for documentaries and short fictions.
In his works he uses traditions, mythologies, religions, politics and modern social behaviors to investigate the relationship between humans and their immediate environment.
