Director (France)

Resident of Mauritius since almost five years, Mikhaël Botebol has undertaken audiovisual studies at the Lycée des Arènes in Toulouse, France, before working as an international volunteer, managing the stage at the Institut français de Maurice (former Centre Culturel Charles Baudelaire), which is the French cultural centre in Mauritius. During these two years spent in contact with various artists, he met David Constantin, with whom he often collaborated, since then, on documentaries and fictions.
Mikhaël Botebol is now a teacher at the Lycée des Mascareignes, and comes back to his first passion by working on short movies scriptwriting. In September 2011, he takes part in the scriptwriting workshop offered by Île Courts - International Short Film Festival of Mauritius. Following this workshop, he makes the short movie L'Alliance (The Ring) in 2012, with the support of the Île Courts Festival. He has been quite discreet since then, dedicating most of his time to his teaching work, but does not give up film making, and has a few projects in the pipeline...
