Writer, producer, director (South Africa)

Yvette holds a BHons degree in Film and New Media from the University of Cape Town. She began her film career as a freelance on local and international feature films and commercials. She took her experience in production and Assistant Directing to a media NGO in 2004. Here she quickly rose to the level of producer and programme manager and produced the HIV documentary show "Siyayinqoba Beat It!" for SABC1 for four seasons. The show received a number of awards during this period, as well as being awarded a "Best Practice" status by UK DFID.

Yvette was responsible for programme management, funding proposals, monitoring and evaluation as well as acting as Head of Production. In 2008, Yvette produced and directed a PSA to promote the show and represented the organisation at the International AIDS Conference. Yvette registered Substance Films in late 2008 and began work on a number of proposals. The rest is history.
