Filmmaker (South Africa)

Teddy MATTERA was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. He studied Sociology and Film Production in the USA then scriptwriting in Amsterdam. He holds a Master Degree in Cinema & Filmmaking of the London International Film School.

Teddy MATTERA was nominated at the Oscars as an Assistant on docu-fiction Hoop Dreams in 1993. He directs several documentaries for the SABC, the BBC and UK Channel Four, as well as shorts and series.

His first feature long fiction film MAX & MONA got him well-deserved audience prestige, festival awards and unanimous respect in the film sector.
