Director and Scriptwriter (Guinea)

Born in 1960 in Conakry, Guinea, Cheick Fantamady Camara has a training in script writing at INA and in 1998 he achieved 35 mm film-making at the Ecole Nationale Louis Lumière. In 2000, he directed his first short film "Konorofili" followed by "Be Kunko" in 2004. In 2006, he directed his first feature film "Il va pleuvoir sur Conakry", winning by a score of awards worldwide, including the Prix Ousmane Sembene (2008 Festival of Khouribga, Morocco).

In July 2010, he began in Dakar, Senegal, shooting his second feature "Morbayassa" with the main actors of his previous film.
