Director (Chad)

Born in 1961 in Abeche, Mahamat Saleh Haroun is the first filmmaker from Chad. In 1999 he directed his first feature film, "Bye Bye Africa", and in 2001 his short film "Letter from New York City" made in ​​the same year won the prize for best video at the 11th Festival of African Cinema in Milan .


On May 23, 2010, his film "Un homme qui crie" selected in official competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2010, won the Jury Prize. The following year, he is a member of the jury for feature films headed by Robert De Niro at the Cannes Film Festival 2011.
