After getting a Literature Degree at Université Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar, "Thian" makes his first steps in cinema in 2006. Trained at the MediaCentre in Dakar, he follows workshops with Professors Robert Mackee et Martin Thau. He is a professional director at 2STV the 1st private TV channel in Senegal.

Audience Award and Wallonie Bruxelles Prize at the 9th Festival International du film de Quartier in Dakar with JAARO BI (The Magic Ring) shot in 2007.
Official sélection at the Filmwriting Marathon - 13th Festival international des scénaristes Bourges, France.
Fiction Prize at the Clap Ivoire Festival 2010, Abidjan, Ivory Coast, for his short "La reine et le Soleil" (THE QUEEN AND THE SUN), an extract of JAARO BI 2 - ORIGINS, his 2nd feature long, a prequel to JAARO BI 1.
